This article describes what a CS01 form is,  how it is used and how it can be filed using Formations & CoSec

The CS01 form, also known as the Confirmation Statement, is a mandatory annual filing for all UK companies registered with Companies House, ensuring that the public record of a company remains accurate and up to date.

It’s a formal declaration that a company’s registered details are correct. It includes important information such as:

• Registered office address
• Directors and company secretary
• Shareholders and shareholdings
• Statement of capital
• Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code
• People with Significant Control (PSC)

Its purpose is to maintain transparency and accountability for all UK companies. Even if no changes have occurred, companies must still file the CS01 at least once every 12 months. Failure to file on time can lead to penalties, and in severe cases, the company may be struck off the register.

There are two ways to file the CS01:

1. Online submission:
   • We can carry out this filing for you, priced at £100 + VAT plus £34 filing fee
   • Requires a Companies House account and authentication code
   • The fastest and most efficient way
2. Paper submission:
   • Please contact us if you require a paper filing so that we may review and assist you accordingly
   • Requires printing and posting the form to Companies House along with a cheque for the fee
   • It takes longer to process paper forms

Filing the CS01 is a straightforward but essential task to maintain your company’s good standing and avoid unnecessary legal complications.
