What are CON29O Optional Enquiries:
The CON29O (Optional Enquiries of Local Authorities) form is an optional supplement to the standard CON29R local authority search used during conveyancing in England and Wales.
It allows a buyer or their conveyancer to ask additional questions where there are particular concerns about a property or its location
The CON29O enquiries are:

| 4 | Road proposals by private bodies | Details of proposed roads, transport schemes or highway works being promoted by private organisations rather than the highway authority. |
| 5 | Advertisements | Whether advertisement consent has been granted or refused for signs, billboards or displays on the property. |
| 6 | Completion notices | Notices served requiring a development to be completed within a specified period. |
| 7 | Parks and countryside | Information on nearby parks, country parks, nature reserves, open spaces and countryside management schemes. |
| 8 | Pipelines | The existence of major underground pipelines (such as gas, oil or chemical pipelines) affecting or crossing the property. |
| 9 | Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) | Whether the property is licensed as an HMO or subject to HMO enforcement notices. |
| 10 | Noise abatement | Noise abatement notices or enforcement action served under environmental protection legislation. |
| 11 | Urban Development Areas | Whether the property is within an area designated for urban regeneration or development. |
| 12 | Enterprise Zones | Whether the property lies within an Enterprise Zone. |
| 13 | Inner Urban Improvement Areas | Historic designations intended to encourage the improvement of urban neighbourhoods. |
| 14 | Simplified Planning Zones / Local Development Orders | Whether planning permission is automatically granted for certain types of development within the area. |
| 15 | Land maintenance notices | Notices requiring owners or occupiers to maintain land or remedy its condition. |
| 16 | Mineral consultation and safeguarding areas | Whether the property lies within an area protected for potential mineral extraction. |
| 17 | Hazardous substances consents | Consents relating to the storage or use of hazardous substances at or near the property. |
| 18 | Environmental and pollution notices | Notices relating to pollution control, contaminated land, environmental health or similar environmental legislation. |
| 19 | Food safety notices | Notices served under food safety legislation affecting premises used for food businesses (relevant to commercial premises). |
| 20 | Hedgerow notices | Notices protecting important hedgerows under the Hedgerows Regulations. |
| 21 | Flood defence and land drainage consents | Information about flood defence works, drainage consents and related notices affecting the property. |
| 22 | Common land and town or village greens | Whether the property is registered as common land or as a town or village green. |
