This article explains how to set up or archive a Nominal through Unity® PMS Accounts platform.
To start, let’s head to Maintenance > then select Nominal.
The Nominal Maintenance window will then be displayed.
To Set Up a Nominal
On the Nominal Maintenance window:
- Click the Insert button. This will automatically add a new field on the Nominal Maintenance table
- Enter the Description. Either enter the text manually or click the drop-down menu to select from a list of standard Descriptions
- Select the Nominal Type from the drop-down menu. The following Nominal Types are:
- B – Balance Sheets
- E – Expense
- R – Revenue
- On the Parent field, select where you’d like the nominal to appear on either the Profit and Loss or in the Balance Sheet
- Next, select the VAT Code/Rate that you think the nominal is best allocated to
- Review the details entered and once done, click Save
That will then be saved and will be added on our log for future postings.
To Update a Nominal
If there are nominals that you’d like to update:
- You can simply select a nominal listed on the table, or you can search the nominal using the Nominal field, then click Find
- Update the details of the selected nominal, using the fields on the nominal window
- Once done, click Save
To Archive a Nominal
- You can simply select a nominal listed on the table,
- Or you can search the nominal using the Nominal field then click Find
- Untick the nominal’s Active checkbox
- Then, click Save
The nominal will then be set to inactive. Note that this can still be unarchive in the future.
