In this article, we look at how to Create a Disbursement Type.
To start, head to Maintenance > Disbursement Type. This will show all disbursements currently set up in the Maintenance program.
To add a disbursement:
- Click the Insert button.
- At the top of the page, let’s start by entering a Code. This can be either a set of numbers or the initials or first few letters of the description.
- Next, we’ll type in a description. Select a VAT Code from the drop-down menu. If the disbursement will be VAT-atable, select VAT code A.
- You can also update the Sort Order or leave it as is. Then we’ll select the disbursement category, if it’s an expense or a standard disbursement.
✏️Note: Click the Save button for any changes made. |
With this, the next time that you go and enter an Office Debit, you’ll be able to see the disbursement that you created—listed on the Disbursements’ drop-down menu.
To Archive or Set a Disbursement as Inactive
You also have the option to set the Disbursement as active or inactive using the Active column on our Disbursement Type Maintenance table. If there are any disbursement types that you no longer require, simply select the said disbursement, untick the active checkbox and click Save. Once done, the selected disbursement will be archived and set as inactive.
