This article describes how to use Time Record when not in a Matter, within Insight
Time Record
- When you are not in a Matter, you can open the Time Recorder from the Cases tab as shown:
- Fill in the relevant details if required
- Time recording can start without any details, in order to Commit later however it will need:
-
- The Charge Rate
- The Activity
- A Comment, this will auto populate when the Activity is selected
-
- The time recorder contains a Play and Pause button, as highlighted above.
- When the Play button is clicked a timer will start at the top of the window.
- The Pause button can be used to stop the timer at any time, and the Play button will resume timing
- The Hide button will hide the recorded time from the top toolbar, it can be restored by clicking Show
Completed Recording
- Once the entry is finished, you can complete it in one of two ways:
- Press Commit to save the entry , it requires a Matter to be saved.
- If you close without saving the time will be saved in the Fee Earners timesheet and may be linked later
- Press Discard to delete the entry without saving
Using the red cross on the top right to close it does not stop the timer from recording, and it will not discard the entry. It will save as a draft to come back to later
**You can open as many time recording windows as you wish. However, you can only have one clock running at a time. Once you start a new clock, the previous one will be automatically paused for you.**
