This article shows how to write off time within Insight

Select Write off Time with in the Cases screen

Look up the matter that you wish to write off time on

Select a write off date; this will default to today’s date

Select which time entries you would like to write off by checking a box

Use Select All on the top toolbar or select individual time entries
At the top of the page, once you start to select the WIP you wish to write off, you will notice the New WIP figure will begin to change down, and you will see the selected figure will start to increase with the total WIP you are looking to write off.

When finished click Save
Once the WIP has been written off in the system it is final, and if you wanted the WIP to show on the matter again as you wish to bill this WIP, you would need to repost the WIP via the time recording options in the system.
To check the status of the time entries:

Go to Cases

Select Case Enquiry

Search for the Matter

Select the Time tab at the bottom of the screen
You will notice an amount has appeared in the Write Off column under the time tab.
You are also able to write off WIP when closing a matter down via Cases > Matter Maintenance; if there are any outstanding time recordings entries against the matter, the system will give you the option to write off the WIP at this point.
