This article describes how to Time Record both when in a Matter and when not in a Matter within Insight
Time recording may be done both from within a Matter and whilst not in a Matter, it is very similar. The only differences are where you open the recorder and what is populated.
When in a Matter
- Go to Cases > Case Enquiry and search for the Matter you wish to record time on
- Once you are on your chosen Matter, you can click the record time icon in the top left
- Once the time recorder is open on your screen, you will see that the matter field has automatically populated for you. If you were to time record when not in a matter, you would have to enter this in manually
- The 'Description' field is enabled with a spellcheck function
Complete the Recording
- Once the entry is finished, you can complete it in one of two ways:
- Press Commit to save the entry to the relevant matter
- Press Discard to delete the entry without saving it to a matter
**If you use the red cross on the top right to close it, it does not stop the timer from recording, and it will not discard the entry. It will save as a draft to come back to later**
You can open as many time recording windows as you wish. However, you can only have one clock running at a time. Once you start a new clock, the previous one will be automatically paused.
