This article explores how to create a client in Unity® Practice Management.
On the Unity® dashboard, select New Client from Quick Links on the right of the screen.
An intuitive menu will appear on the right of your screen which will guide you through the client creation process.
Launch Conflict Search
Clicking Launch Conflict Search brings up a search screen where you can enter some key search information.
Fill out your search parameters and click search at the bottom of the window.
If your search returns the required result, then click on the button to the right of the screen containing the Client Reference as highlighted above.
If the client you are trying to create is not returned by the search, then click Finish at the bottom of the window.

Client Type
Select the type of client you would like to create.
1. Individual
Selecting Individual will prompt you with the questions:
Who is the primary contact for this client?

| Living | Living flag (deceased indicator) |

2. Company Information
Selecting Company will prompt you with questions:

| Company Name | The name of the company |
| Company Type | A drop down list of company types |
| Parent Company | Company is the parent company |
| Certificate Number | Company registration number |
| Incorporation Date | Companies incorporation date |
| Is the company VAT registered? | Is the company VAT registered |

3. Group Information
What is the group name?
Here you need to enter a name for your group.

Click Save and Finish to create the client record.
Clicking Save and Continue will take you to the case creation section when you can attach a matter to your client.
