This is a guide to saving external documents.

In Insight, external files and emails can be attached to the Matter Files tab. This includes PDF documents, Excel files, Word documents, and emails.

Option 1: Drag and Drop Matter Files

Step 1: Open the case in Case Enquiry (Cases Case Enquiry) and look up the case.

Step 2: Select the Matter Files tab at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Locate the file you wish to move to Insight.

Step 4: Drag and drop the file into Insight.

To drag and drop, click, and hold the file, then drag it to the Insight window and release.

Step 1: Open File Explorer and locate the file you wish to send to Insight.

Step 2: Right-click the file and select 'Send to'. Choose 'Insight' from the menu.

Step 3: An Insight box will appear on your taskbar. Select the matter to attach the file to.

Step 4: (Optional) Rename the file by right-clicking and selecting Rename.

You can overtype or add text to the original file name and click the tick icon to confirm.
If the file name exceeds the character limit, a message will appear. Shorten the name to proceed. This is a Windows limitation, not set by Insight.

Step 5: Enter the matter you wish to attach the file to.

Step 6: Click 'Attach Files' in the top left-hand corner.

Step 1: Open the case in Case Enquiry (Cases Case Enquiry) and look up the case.

Step 2: Select the Matter Files tab at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Click the folder icon on the right-hand side above the file size to open a Windows Explorer window.

Step 4: Locate the file you wish to attach to Insight.

To delete a file, open the Explorer window by clicking the grey folder icon from the Matter Files tab.
