This article explores Attaching External Files within Insight.
In Insight, you can attach external files & emails to the Matter Files tab. This includes PDF documents, Excel files, Word Documents, and emails.
To attach files, open the case in Case Enquiry (Cases > Case Enquiry >Look up case). The following are options to do this:
1. Drag and Drop
• Select the Matter Files Tab at the bottom of the page.
• Open up the file explorer screen and find the file you wish to move across into Insight.
• Once you have found the file you wish to move across to Insight, you can drag and drop the file into Insight.
• The way to drag and drop a file is by selecting the file you wish to drag and left-clicking on it, and holding the file down as you drag it to Insight.
2. Moving Between Explorer Folders
• Select the Matter Files Tab at the bottom of the page:
• When on the matter files tab, you will see a folder icon, which is on the right-hand side of the screen above the file size.
• Click on the Folder to open up a Windows Explorer screen.
• Here you can see what files are attached to the matter.
• At this point, find the file you wish to attach to Insight, this can be done by drag and drop or by cut and paste.
• It will then appear in the Insight Matter Files tab.
If you wish to delete any of these files, this is done by opening up the explorer window by clicking on the grey explorer folder icon from the matter files tab. Once the explorer window is open, select the file you wish to delete and then right-click on the file and go to delete. This will update in Insight as well. |
