This article explains how to use the Insight™ Legal Mobile App.
Once you have linked the Mobile App to your user profile on Insight™ Legal, you will be ready to start using the Mobile App on your phone.
You can use the Mobile App to view the Case Enquiry screen, to time record, and to look at Matter Files as they are stored in an Azure file share (speak to our support team for more details).
When you open the Mobile App, you will be presented with a Matter Lookup screen, which also displays your Recent Matters that you have worked on. The Recent Matters box needs to be ticked on your Home screen on the desktop version of Insight™ Legal for you to be able to view these on the Mobile App.
When you click on the Menu option in the top-left corner of your screen, you will be presented with two options:
- Case Enquiry
- Time Sheet.
Selecting Case Enquiry will show you all the details for the case you wish to view in the system. You can also view the Matter Files that are saved against that case. Time Sheet allows you to record time in the same way as you do on Insight™ Legal.
Case Enquiry
Under Case Enquiry, once you have found the Matter you wish to view, you can see all the details related to that particular matter.
You will see the following details of the Matter:
- You can view the Clients who are attached to the Matter.
- Clicking on the green arrow on the Ledger allows you to view the Office and Client Ledgers side by side on your phone.
- The Time Recording section shows you the total time against the Matter and also the current Work in Progress. You can also add a new time entry by clicking the Watch icon.
- The Disbursements section allows you to view the Disbursements that have been paid out, anticipated, or billed against the Matter.
- The Bills tab allows you to see all the Bills that have been posted to the Matter. It also shows if they have been paid or not.
- The Notes section allows you to see any Notes that have been posted onto the system. The Files section allows you to see any Matter Files that have been saved against the Matter. For this to display your documents, you need to have an Azure file share set up.
Please note that any documents opened through the Mobile App will be in read-only mode and cannot be edited. |
Matter Lookup
The Matter Lookup screen allows you to search for Matters that are in the system. You can search for a Matter the same way you do when using Insight™ Legal on your PC or laptop.
Timesheet
The Time Sheet allows you to view entries that are on your Time Sheet as well as post new Time Recording entries. To add a new Time Recording entry, you need to click the Stopwatch with the plus symbol in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Time Recording
Once you have clicked to add a Time Recording entry, you will be presented with the following screen:
If you are a Fee Earner in the system, the Fee Earner field will auto-populate for you.
- The Date field will auto-populate with the date when you started the Time Recording entry; this can be changed if needed.
- Search for the Matter that the Time Recording is to be placed on using the Matter section.
- The Charge Rate will populate based on the Matter you have selected. If no Charge Rate is populated, select the correct Charge Rate.
- Select an Activity.
- Enter a Description to explain what the time recording is for. It will auto-populate based on the Activity you have selected.
- Enter the number of Units or Minutes that you wish to record for this entry (if applicable). The Value field will auto-populate based on the number of Units and the Charge Rate you have selected.
- Alternatively, you can click the play button at the bottom of the page if you wish to record how long it takes to carry out the Activity you have selected.
- Once you have entered all the required information, click on the Save icon in the top right corner of your screen.
