This article describes the Destroy Case feature within Unity Practice Management
Destroy Cases feature
When a case is archived in Unity PMS a Destroy Date will be automatically assigned depending on the case type. These dates are maintained by your cashier in Interactive Accounts.
The Destroyed Date can be found in Clients & Cases > Summary > Edit a Case
When the archived case reaches it's Destroyed Date you can then perform this action within Unity PMS, the Destroy Cases feature is how to do that.
Prerequisites
Because of its potential impact, Destroy Cases is a restricted feature and can only be applied by Dye & Durham. If you need this feature:
- Contact your Practice Manager
- They can raise a support case with Dye & Durham Support to add the feature
To Destroy Cases
- Open your profile in the bottom left
- Click Settings
- In the Settings Menu click Destroy Cases

This gives two options:

- Ready to Destroy - Select cases to destroy
- Audit History - View the history of previously destroyed cases

Ready to Destroy
- Find the case you wish to destroy either by scrolling or using the search function
- Click each case to select it
- Click Destroy in the top right
- Select the areas of case information to destroy
- Enter your username to authorise
- Click Destroy in the bottom right
- A confirmation screen will show which cases have been queued for destruction
- Click Finish
| Cases will not be destroyed instantly; depending on the size and contents of the case, it may take up to 6 hours to complete. |
