This article explains how to edit a Template to merge.
Document templates on Unity® Practice Management work by merging multiple templates into a final document.
It improves your workflow by making changes to a single template to be applied to all documents, instead of amending all templates.
The merging process starts off with your letter, which then merges into the relevant Address Block Template, then into your Header template, and finally into the Margins template.
The 2 i-tags you will need are:
-
Letters intended for clients:
[itag.mergeInto("home/Templates/AddressBlockClientLetter.dotx")]
-
Letters intended for contacts:
[itag.mergeInto("home/Templates/AddressBlockContactLetter.dotx")]
Here is how you can edit your letter to merge with other templates:
- Open your letter in Word
- Select File > Info > Properties > Advanced Properties
- Change to the Custom tab on the window that pops up
- In the Name field, paste the relevant itag
- Type a space into the value field and click Add, and then click OK
- Save your letter into Unity® Practice Management using the add-ins
Please see the screenshots below for reference on where to insert the itag and where to save the template back into Unity® Practice Management.
