This article explains the MR04 form from Companies House and how Business Law can help
The MR04 form is used to notify Companies House that a registered charge (such as a mortgage or debenture) has been satisfied or released, either fully or partially.
The MR04 form is used to carry out the following actions:
- Confirm repayment of a debt secured by a charge.
- Update the public record, showing that the company no longer owes money under that charge.
- Improve transparency for investors, lenders, and other stakeholders by keeping the company’s register accurate.
When completing the MR04, the following details must be provided:
- The company’s name and number
- Information about the original charge
- A statement confirming satisfaction (full or partial)
There’s no legal requirement for a company to notify Companies House when a charge is satisfied, however, doing so shows that the company’s obligations have been met.
